剧情简介：
影片改编自法国小说家莫泊桑的同名小说。
在巴黎圣艾蒂安教堂背后一条街的拐角上有家妓院。妓院的老板娘奥迪勒·泰利埃夫人手下的4名妓女虽说姿色不能算是上等，倒也还有不少老相好和愣头青常来找乐趣。一天，泰利埃夫人接到了一封邀请她去乡下参加她侄女第一次领圣礼仪式的信，和妓女们通过气后，就贴出了“因第一次领圣体暂停营业”这么一张告示，带着妓女们乘上一辆大马车，离开巴黎去往外省乡下。途中，野外的美景映入了她们因肉欲而凄迷的眼帘，她们感受到了在巴黎肮脏、灰暗的房屋里根本见不到的大自然的一种兴奋；接着，乡下人的生活和教堂的主祭，唤起了她们对美好的往昔岁月、尚未堕落的岁月的回忆，她们的内心都不禁升起一股圣洁的力量，为自己的亵渎而落下了眼泪。但这种质朴人性的回归转瞬即逝，回到巴黎，在一群迫不及待的嫖客簇拥下，她们又重新回到了青楼卖笑的觥筹交错之中。
